2017 Aspiring Entrepreneur Scholarship Winner [Announced]

By

Mulberrys Garment Care wants to help aspiring entrepreneurs in pursuing their dreams, which is why we decided to award one industrious student with a $1,000 scholarship to do just that.

Students interested in receiving the scholarship were required to outline a business idea they wish to make into a reality, and how they plan to do so. Additionally, applicants were required to tell us how college will help them achieve their goal, all in 600 words or less.

After combing through many excellent submissions, we found one that impressed us the most. We are thrilled to announce that Sravya Basvapatri has been chosen as the winner of the $1000 Scholarship from Mulberrys Garment Care for Aspiring Entrepreneurs.

Sravya is a high school senior from Pennsylvania that plans to focus her collegiate studies on the intersection of business and engineering. In the past, she has interned at the Uncommon Individual Foundation in Devon, Pennsylvania, where she was able to gain first-hand business experience while working with a number of startup companies.

She has also been heavily involved with the Diamond Challenge, a high school entrepreneurship competition that features submissions from students from around the globe. Sravya and her partner won the Philadelphia Diamond Challenge competition with their idea for a smart steering wheel cover called SteerSecure that is designed to combat drowsy driving, the same idea she used to win the Mulberrys scholarship.

Sravya’s scholarship submission included an impressive level of detail into the design, purpose, and target audiences for SteerSecure, even going so far as to include a motto for the product. All of those factors helped set her apart when it came time to select a winner.

While we can only award the scholarship to one student, we want to thank all of our applicants for their submissions and wish each and every one of them the best of luck going forward in their educations and careers!
